This is due to record low mortgage interest rates and the $8,000. first-time buyer tax credit. Keep in mind that first-time buyers have to close on their home purchase by November 30, 2009. This should continue to increase home purchases over the summer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;National legislation is currently being proposed to extend the deadline for an additional period of time.
